Welcome to XTERRA West Cup!

by theorangedog on Jan.05, 2009, under Speed

After diligently waiting since the announcement of the XTERRA race schedule additions, which is also the announcement of the new American Tour, I noticed registration opened for the 2009 XTERRA West Cup Championships the other day.

I’m in.

Xterra Wetsuits on Sale - 50% Off

by theorangedog on Dec.24, 2008, under Speed

As many know, Xterra Wetsuits are now on sale. Visit their sale website for 50% off all of their suits.

I know the sale has been going on since November - I believe early November - but I don’t know how long it will continue. It is something they do every now and then, but being the off-season it seems to fit the sale environment. REMEMBER - there is a more detailed sizing chart in their “Catalog” section.

I took the opportunity to pick up a Vortex 2 fullsuit. Should come in handy at XTERRA Deuces Wild, XTERRA West Cup, the Lake Havasu Triathlon, and if I can make it, XTERRA Real.

Also, Chain Love is currently cycling through a lot of discount clothing. I just picked up a pair of Royal Race shorts for about 55-60% off.

These will likely come up again, so keep your eyes peeled if you are interested. Their running on about half hour cycles right now - so you need to check in a little more often than you had to in the past.

Racing Season Prep - Deschutes Gear

by theorangedog on Nov.17, 2008, under Speed, Spirits

Deschutes makes an awesome product in Black Butte Porter. It is far and away my favorite beer, and I’ve had my share of options. Since I first ran into this at a tasting at Total Wine, I’ve been keeping my fridge stocked. I ran out just last night, and was planning on heading over to BevMo to pick up a couple more cases. Shortly after I got home from work, I received a package.

What’s the next best thing to Black Butte? A Black Butte jersey, of course! And yes, my socks will match my shirt, with the Sock Guy Deschutes socks.

Beer and biking DO mix!*

I’m still not sure if I will be able to make the 12 Hours of Pain & Purpose, but I will definitely be at Kona’s 24 Hours of the Old Pueblo. If you see a 6′8″ Deschutes billboard running around the course, stop and say hello. The plan is to camp out, with a cooler. So I may have an extra bottle of Black Butte for you.

And speaking of, I have to run to the store.

*Responsibly of course! Don’t drink and bike!
